Giving back

 I've been donating my work to charity auctions for years...many different organizations and people, and I knew I'd eventually do more with my time and give more of myself....The last two years I've been hanging out with foster kids for an art program I created...I was a kid always drawing and I loved to hang out with anyone that was also creative/artistic and little did I know art would eventually become my career. So I get to show these kids their joys and passions in life can bring you a fulfilling and successful life.  I also volunteer with SurfQuest where we take disabled people out to catch waves...this is an extremely powerful thing to be involved with and I love being part of this! 
  My home and studio were flooded by two hurricanes in '16 and '17, I lost someone important in my life, I went broke and in debt for the first time in over 10 years and I was depressed, angry, sad....a mess!  But I go out to the beach with people that live in a chair, can't see, aren't mobile, and you realize your life is just fine. Simply, I can stand up and walk if I want to. Suddenly all that I'd been through no longer meant so much for i knew I'd rebuild and be OK.
  I encourage everyone I know to do something like this...the world would be a better place...we need more empathy and compassion.
  My plan with Perfect for Awesomeness as it grows is to support more events like this, do more community outreach, sponsor people doing amazing and positive things.  I truly do want to try and make the world a better place!
